  1. Any chance that gravitational slingshot can throw you over the water to Darkest UK?

  2. I got so excited when I saw Cambridge. Then I realized, Cambridge US 😛

  3. Not surprising Washington, DC is left out. Serious science is not a popular item here.

  4. Indeed, WDC is kicked to the curb. Rightly so with all the “sudo” science in this part of the country no reasonable scientist can get a word in edgewise. I’m kinda pissed about that. Yet my income is far greater and far more stable here than it could be anywhere else in the … um … universe.

  5. I see you are treating the midwest as flyover country by flying over it. Consider Boswell Books in Milwaukee, WI. That is where I like to go see authors so I assume that authors like to be seen there.

    Sincerely, etc…

  6. It kills me that you’re doing Seattle and San Francisco but you’re skipping out on Powell’s and your loving fans in Portland

  7. this is soooo coastist (favoring only cities on the east and west coasts) – america has changed and with the move of so many people into other cities not happening to sit on an ocean, there are lots of interested folks all over. Time to catch up with the times and not just “fly-over” – shows ignorance.

  8. On your way home please consider adding a stop in Rhode Island, we’re on the way and we’ll sell out too! I’ll bring you a Dell’s! 🙂

  9. Denver, The Tattered Cover, or Bookies, but Denver, definitely. I know that you could sell at least three books.

  10. Uhhh,
your slingshot is not big enough 😉 So you will not be in Germany, I see. That’s a pity.

I wish you a lot of success on your tour.

  11. Boo. No Texas. I know our state has a… reputation, but just think of all the funny looks you’d get!

  12. A limited fly-by, hmmm. I suspect the shift in XKCD reader-density could cause unexpected gravity anomalies with far-reaching consequence; capuccinos wouldn’t froth, string theory may unravel, electron-sag density may reverse (power lines would bow upwards, birds, slide to the end, etc), havoc man! Havoc. Recommend an international spread of calm.

  13. Coastist? Naw, this is a vacation itinerary!

You know…Austin, TX is fun a little later in September when it cools down! 😛

  14. Help! I bought my ticket + book combo ($43.00), and now I am being sent out of the country by my employer. Can I get the book mailed to me?

  15. Looks like you’re sticking to the coasts. I know the southwest isn’t the most comfortable of places but you have a lot of fans in Austin, TX! Have fun on your trip though.

  16. Wow, I totally can’t believe that you planned a nicely spread out, 7-stop book tour in the US and didn’t include my city of: randomTown, RandomState!! I surely can’t conceive how I’ll ever get my book signed if you don’t come to my exact town.

  17. Please come to Dallas, Texas. You have a lot of fans here, and in Texas in general. I would love to see you here!

  18. Come to Uganda! East Africa loves you too.

…OK, I’m from Cambridge originally but when I got here I was so happily surprised to find out you are well-known among geeky Ugandans! Seriously. How cool is that? There are many XKCD fans on this continent. So they deserve some loving too 🙂

  19. What if you really travelled with a gravitational slingshot around New York: Would you eventually travel to almost every place on earth or would you end up in New York after a couple of rounds?

  20. As your itinerary shows, Iowa is confirmed as the epicenter of flyover country. This in spite of it being a strangely attractive location for massive data centers, PayPal, and windmills. Coincidence??

  21. And after LA? If I may suggest, keep traveling south west and visit us in New Zealand.

  22. Seriously, Powell’s in Portland OR will almost certainly sell a lot of your books and it’s a great place. Enthusiastic audiences, excellent beer, food, wine, and coffee — maybe on the next tour?

  23. Why don’t you come to Brussels? Nice and cosy in the middle of the EU [it used to be, until 2004, damn you Malta!] and we’ve got a few beers to share…

  24. I’m too slow to get tickets for Seattle. I’ll buy you breakfast if you have any spare time while you’re here. That’s assuming you’ll eat breakfast with me. I’m not going to just send you breakfast money. That would be ridiculous.

I have been following the comics since about number 400, and you have taught me many things

  26. If you add a few cities, Dallas has a literary science fiction convention (FenCon) that would happily put you on programming, provide you a place to sign books, and give you a chance to show off that shiny new Hugo Award you just won.

  27. How about Canada?

You could start in Toronto and take the subway across the country to Vancouver. Should only take a few hours. Just ask any American. Canada’s not really that big.

You should totally make a stop in our area.
