  1. I believe Urbana Champaign would be a great stop – you have tons of student fans here. You could probably even make it an official university-sanctioned visit and get paid for the whole thing.

  2. Meh. Seattle’s sold out. Any chance of moving the event from Town Hall to the Kingdome? Or, um, whatever stadium replaced it.

  3. When are you coming to The Netherlands? (To sign a book, not to discuss world domination plans!)

  4. I cannot BELIEVE you are passing up a chance to include Forest City NC on your book tour. I mean, were you to come, we might even start a book store for you to visit. Maybe.

  5. Perhaps use the greater gravitation slingshot effect of the Bay Area to continue across the Pacific to Australia?

  6. What about Texas? How are we going to convert all of the really strange people who vote for Rick Perry if you don’t come to visit?

  7. I noticed there are a lot of places you are not stopping on your book tour. A person might be tempted to question your judgment.
But I am not that person.

  8. Wait a sec… You’re not coming to Portland, Oregon? But this city is like the Mecca of eclectic self-conscious nerds! Powell’s bookstore is the perfect spot for overflow capacity book tour talks by awesome authors.

    Say it ain’t so 😥

  9. No Utah stop? I promise the Mormons don’t bite. They got it under control like 2 years ago now.

  10. No stops in the Midwest? 😦 It is just a state of mind, but we have feelings too.

  11. I was sad when I saw no stop in Chicago/ anywhere in the midwest also.

Ironically I’ll be in Seattle one week after you, so I’ll miss that too! Arg

  12. Come on down to Birmingham, Al. You can be anonymous, no one will interrupt you at dinner and harass you for autographs, and …

    nevermind….

  13. I love when commenters get political and automatically assume that Conservaties don’t read xkcd.

  14. A few days late I know but still…

You should consider Madrid as a stop for your next tour! They say it makes for a great stop when going on a book tour. Really!

  15. If you are in Durham (UK) pop in. 100% of xkcd followers in my house will be there. 25% of the total available population in my house. Umm. Not compelling I guess.

  16. Ahh someone above mentioned going to Urbana Champaign- I like the thought! To expand: How about a 50 state university tour!? (Don’t forget about Minnesota, eh?) Talk to the right people and you could probably end up with expenses paid. Pretty cool way to see the country and do a little promoting here and there!

  17. …man, I love this site. Look, everyone’s comments are witty, polite, and grammatically correct.

    -xkcd- for the WIN.

  18. Please consider State College, PA, home of the fine Pennsylvania State University (Penn State!!). Or even Harrisburg, PA; which, despite what Pittsburgh and Philadelphia think, actually *is* the state capitol! The Forum is a lovely building, with constellations painted on the dome ceiling.

  19. Ah yes, another fine event sucked away from Central NY by the black hole that is NYC (A.K.A THE City). My nearest B&N is Utica, NY so I won’t even suggest it. Fair winds on your trip and stay clear of the NYC event horizon.

  20. Come to Austin, TX (Bookpeople) please. I won’t wait in line for Franklin’s but I will wait in line to purchase your book!

  21. You probably know that Boulder, CO was the home of the forces of good in Steven King’s “The Stand”, which makes your proposed absence even more unfathomable. There are more people here that truly get your work than anywhere else. We have the most PhDs per capita. And a lot of book stores, where trust funders and the under-employed actually read books while sipping coffee. And it’s a pretty place to visit. When a friend moved away we gave him a cake decorated with an xkcd cartoon. So the line starts way back there, Urbana-Champaign.

  22. Washington DC could perhaps also provide gravitational pull on the reverse trip – and we’d be happy to have you nerd it up here!

  23. There really a bunch of us in northern Ohio who really need you to brighten their existence out here.Come to our CWRU campus and be surprised.

  24. Perhaps a statistical analysis of the towns you’re not visiting in proportion to their disappointment can be used to plot a new trip. The Hellcat Hemi Challenger can cover a lot of ground, and makes better point-to-point transport if you’re not going to annoy fly-over country.

Point of Data: New Orleans, LA. Disappointment index: 5.

  25. Well, that settles it. Randall will just have to do another tour. Or two or three. Dozen.

    Thank you.

  26. The rest of the world can stop feeling jealous of Cambridge (aka “our fair city”). This cozy venue offers “seating for 225 guests” and was sold out before we could slip into our xkcd T-shirts. Randall needs a new publicist, ’cause someone’s leaving a lot of money on the book tour table.
Pretty please come back to Cambridge!

  27. An East Coast run of tour stops would be wonderful. May I suggest somewhere in eastern PA for one of the stops?

  28. So I guess you’re one of those people who thing America is just the two coasts, and the rest of it is “flyover country?”

You know The Oatmeal’s books were published by a company in Kansas City, right?
