I’m sure you could get a big turn out in Austin, Texas

I know that I would show up if you came to Austin! I love What If?

I’d bet college campuses with solid engineering/science programs would yield a strong turnout to a talk or Q&A(and a book tour).

I think you’d get a great turnout in Salt Lake City, UT as well.

Came to check to see if you’d be stopping in Austin, TX. Happy to see that I’m not the only one who would miss you. 🙂

Although I’ll be able to catch you in NY, you should really come to Austin too! Or at least go there on future tours (I’m moving there). 😀

Umm, total flyover of the real part of the country?? Ya Know, Denver would be the place to stop on your way back from the left coast to the left coast.

well, different country, but closer to the start distance wise than Austin and not quite as outlandish as New Zealand, have you considered Canada? I’m in Montreal (or at least will be in September once this internship is done) and know lots of people who would join in welcoming you. 4 Universities, two with great engineering programs ( Sorry Concordia and UQAM). If you felt like a pleasant detour…..

Thanks for the Hangout idea, would be quite a way from Germany – although definitely worth the time, if I had the money to spend 🙂

Looks like a very cool tour – excited to see your new book!
For your next tour you should expand a little, I dunno, maybe Scotland. If you did that I’d have more thumbs ups for you than my body is able to give. A caring motherly hug as well if you’re into that.

What if…you came to Chicago??

Hi! What if I’m french and have no possibility for preordering a sign copy of your book? I checked on the harvard book store, you have to live in USA or Canada to get it. Seriously who lives there?
Anyway I would be eternally grateful if you find a plausible scenario for me to get your book. And when I say eternity, I know such thing doesn’t exist, but I guarantee a minimum of 22 billions years, with possibility of warranty extension, depending of the exact date of the end of the universe. Hope it won’t be a sunday it’s my chill day.

Eugene, Oregon would be an easy stopover between Seattle and San Francisco. And it’s also centrally located so both the Oregon State and OIT students can make the trip. Maybe even one of the Reed kids who works on their nuclear reactor.

Does this tour imply that the Plank length is greater than usually given. Only points on the coasts exist. Points on the third coast don’t exist.

Boulder is one of the startup capitals of the US. The CU campus had a quote from xkcd spray painted in one of the tunnels as graffiti. You should hit up Boulder, CO, or at least Denver.
Poor middle of the country, we get forgotten so often.

I came in to say “Austin”, but now that I see it’s already being adequately advocated for, let me be more specific: north Austin, ideally near the Pickle Research Campus, perhaps 7ish in the evening? By mid-September, it should be non-scorching outside about that hour, so outdoor venues would be an option.
