I am happy to inform you that velociraptors cannot survive Canadian winter, except in BC, those sissies. You will be safe here! We will give you maple syrup and a pet polar bear!
Montreal has more geeks and nerds than you can shake a stick at.

You don’t have to worry about velociraptors in Washington, DC – they’re afraid of the lobbyists. Also, the lawyers keep the land sharks and tree squid away.

I don’t see any way around this, I guess I’ll have to find an apartment in the Seattle area, and somehow acquire transportation from my future neighbor by obtaining her trust and getting a spare set of keys before the 9th. Would it be unethical at this point to spend the 5 dollars I found in her mailbox for my seat? Hey Sarah’s grandparents, that’s barely enough to send you a “thank you” card. Next year ditch the card and stamp, send an email and drop the full $8.35 in my Paypal account, its 2014.

Seriously, folks –
Randall’s wife is in remission, which http://xkcd.com/931/ tells us is not forever. That graph is 6 years, 50% survival rate. Mean time to losing his wife forever is 600 weeks, and he will be gone almost two of them. If I was in Boston with my dearest only, I would never leave, not for two weeks, and certainly not for enough weeks to go all the places people want him to go.
Yes, I’m lucky – I’m in Portland, Seattle is 6 hours round trip by car, and I scored some tickets. I would still be lucky if Randal only appeared in a stadium in LA, and I flew down for that.
I bet he would make one more appearance at TD Garden in Boston, if 19,000 of us flew in for that. Which would be absurdly awesome. We could build a huge robotic pantograph so he could sign 100 books at once, and set the world record for a book signing.
Equally awesomely, we could set up an internet-connected robotic pantograph and he could appear by live video feed in 100 bookstores around the world simultaneously. From home, in his bathrobe. Mythic.

Note: Seattle, WA show is already sold out because town hall decided to only offer 500 tickets in order to have a more intimate environment.
