Wow. It seems someone at YouTUBE took this comic seriously and decided to add an “Audio Preview” feature. Now you can hear your comments read aloud to you.

Of course, it’s an optional button using speech synth rather than a mandatory dramatic reading, so it’ll just be used for entertainment by people who haven’t played with a speech synthesizer before:

So maybe there’s hope after all.

  11. I really like this idea. Nowadays people develop every day new things and because of this i am not amazed about this fact. In contrast; i like this feature. You can listen to your comment and after this you are sure if you have to change anthing in it or not. A really great idea!!!

  17. the moronic youtube guy is cool cuz if u aint talkin 2 sum1, den jus go on youtube and type in “i aint talkin 2 u” in da ost comment box and click audio preview. i kept on typin “(my name) is he greatest!” over and over again!
    by the way this video is cool she is a good dance teacher but her voice is annoying.

  27. Oh dear lord. It is frightening how many people commenting on how much they love this feature are in so dire need of it themselves. Please, people. You read xkcd, for crying out loud. You must have some appreciation for the English language… or at least something of an ability to spell more accurately than a second-grader.
    And Nicole, it only pronounces the letters separately. 😦
